Among the most notable aspects of the design was the renovation of an abandoned building that was scheduled for demolition. The “old school” character of the building was used as a design vernacular to give the sports park a feeling of the great ballparks of yesteryear. The general design of the building reclamation was provided by JFDS and provides covered seating, new recreation offices, meeting rooms, concessions, and restrooms. The master plan includes 4 baseball/softball fields, 2 multipurpose fields, batting cages, an extensive trail system, RV camping area, fishing pond, and playgrounds.
